NBA TV’s Summer League coverage — the first opportunity to see many of the NBA’s best rookies in action — will comprise 50 live game telecasts at 13 days beginning Monday, July 1. The network’s schedule — such as live game telecasts from three Summer League places — will feature the expected first look at a number of those 2019 NBA Draft course. Live match coverage on NBA TV will tip-off around July 1 with three games, such as the Cleveland Cavaliers — who drafted Darius Garland with the No. 5 choice — confronting the San Antonio Spurs and recently drafted Luka Samanic at 7 p.m. Live event coverage will include 10 match telecasts in the Sacramento Kings’ California Classic Summer League along with also the 2019 Utah Jazz Summer League — five from each location — held from July 1-4. Golden 1 Center at Sacramento will host the California Classic Summer League, although the Utah Jazz Summer League matches will be held at the team’s Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City. NBA TV will feature back-to-back tripleheader times of live game action from Sacramento and Utah on Monday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 2, followed with a four-game slate on Wednesday, July 3. Live match coverage will tip off at 7 p.m., 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and 3 p.m., 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup between New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson and New York Knicks guard-forward RJ Barrett — two of the top three selections in NBA Draft 2019 introduced by State Farm — highlights the 11-day, 83-game schedule for MGM Resorts NBA Summer League 2019 in Las Vegas. Williamson and the Pelicans confront Barrett and the Knicks on Friday, July 5 at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. Each MGM Resorts NBA Summer League game will broadcast live on television for the 2nd consecutive year, with ESPN networks and NBA TV merging to televise a record amount of matches. Williamson, the No. 1 pick in NBA Draft 2019 introduced by State Farm, yields on Saturday, July 6 to face Rui Hachimura along with the Washington Wizards in 10 p.m. ET on ESPN. Hachimura became the initial Japanese-born player chosen in the first round by an NBA team when the Wizards picked him ninth in NBA Draft 2019. Williamson will also take on the Chicago Bulls and fellow top-10 pick Coby White on Monday, July 8, at 9:30 p.m. on NBA TV. MGM Resorts NBA Summer League 2019, which features all 30 NBA teams and the Chinese and Croatian National Teams, will steer clear of 10 games on July 5 and continue through Monday, July 15 in the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The first day of action will include five matches on NBA TV plus a tripleheader on ESPN. This league provides fans the opportunity to see many of the league’s top young players, including this year’s top 10 selections Williamson, RJ Barrett, De’Andre Hunter, Jarrett Culver, White, Cam Reddish, Rui Hachimura and Jaxson Hayes. The event opens with 32 teams playing four preliminary games each. The best eight teams are subsequently seeded in a tournament, which contrasts with a Championship Game on July 15 in 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2. Teams which do not qualify for the championship will each play a consolation game. Every team will play at least five matches and as many as seven at MGM Resorts NBA Summer League. Following that game, a 7 p.m. matchup between the Minnesota Timberwolves and No. 6 overall pick Jarrett Culver vs. the Dallas Mavericks The Trail Blazers begins defense of their MGM Resorts NBA Summer League title against the Pistons on July 6 at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU. Later that afternoon, the Atlanta Hawks, that selected Cam Reddish the 10th pick in NBA Draft 2019 presented by State Farm, will play the Milwaukee Bucks at 5 p.m. ET on NBA TV. NBA TV’s onsite commentators in Las Vegas will include analysts Brendan Haywood, Caron Butler, Steve Smith, Isiah Thomas, Sam Mitchell and eight-time NBA All-Star Vince Carter, who will serve as a guest analyst for the network for the fourth consecutive year. Matt Winer, Rick Kamla, Pete Pranica, Kristen Ledlow and Jared Greenberg will share play-by-play responsibilities. Allie LaForce, Dennis Scott, Stephanie Ready, Ro Parrish, Ledlow and Greenberg will function as reporters. NBA TV’s signature studio show, NBA GameTime, will feature live episodes following every day’s last match of the night, July 5-15, focusing on the most recent player moves and free agent buzz, also game highlights and information from Summer League. Casey Stern, Winer, Kamla and Chris Miles will rotate hosting duties, alongside analysts Wes Wilcox, Tony Delk, Rex Chapman and Antonio Daniels.
